George K. Mathew

George K. Mathew (1930-2011) was born in Kuala Lumpur in what was then called Malaya. He joined Madras Christian College in 1950, first as a student, and went on to become a Professor of English—whose classes were much loved for his wit, oration and playful renditions of Shakespearean songs and sonnets. His contribution to the College also extended to his roles as editor of the MCC Magazine and director of many of the College plays. He is the author of the novel, The Wind and the Rain. George K. Mathew lives on through his wife, Susan George, and his two sons, Vivek and Sunil. The family can be contacted at nonsenseverse2019@gmail.com.
