Mirza Azeem Baig Chughtai (1898-1941) was a renowned Urdu fiction writer, novelist, humorist and short story writer from pre-Partition India. Some of his most well-known works are Vampire, Chamki, Shehzori, and Quran and Purdah, to name a few. He was one of the earliest proponents of feminism in the Indian subcontinent, an activist and a lawyer who fought pro bono for the rights of women.
