Sanjoy Hazarika

Sanjoy Hazarika is a researcher, columnist, mentor and activist. A former reporter for the New York Times, he has been published extensively in Indian and international media. His earlier books include the acclaimed Strangers of the Mist and its sequel, Strangers No More.

Hazarika has produced over a dozen documentaries including on the Brah­maputra, dolphins, governance, conflict and rights. In 2000, he founded the Centre for North-East Studies and Policy Research whose flagship programme is the innovative boat clinics on the Brahmaputra (www.c-nes.org).
