Enakshi Ganguly

Enakshi Ganguly has been involved in research, advocacy and training on a wide range of human rights issues, such as displacement due to development, child rights, women rights and those concerning other marginalized groups since 1985. She is an Advisor at HAQ: Centre for Child Rights, which she founded in 1998 and co-directed till 2018. She has authored a number of publications, including reports, articles and edited volumes on a range of subjects related to forced displacement, land and housing rights, women and children. She is the co-convenor of the Working Group on Human Rights (WGHR) and is on the board of several organizations including the Child Rights International Network (CRIN, London) and, till recently, was also on the board of the Gender Centre of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). She is an honorary professor at the National Law University, Odisha, and is currently Executive Director of the Housing and Land Rights Network, India. Enakshi was awarded the Ashoka Fellowship in 2003 and the REX Karmaveer Chakra award instituted by iCONGO in partnership with the United Nations.
