Ilse Köhler-Rollefson

Ilse Köhler-Rollefson has worked and lived in Rajasthan since 1991. She fell in love with camels more than thirty years ago, and has dedicated most of her professional life, as a veterinarian, anthropologist and activist to this species. She is the founder of the League for Pastoral Peoples, and co-founder, with Hanwant Singh, of Camel Charisma, a social enterprise that develops and markets ‘cruelty-free’ products from camels. Ilse is on the Food and Agriculture Organization Steering Committee for the International Year of Camelids 2024.
