Neeti Singh combines her interest in literature with the concept of Bhakti, translation and cultural studies. She has over twenty years of university teaching behind her; she has published over thirty research papers in academic journals, as well as four books, including a book of poems, The Serpent of Slumber, and one on the Bhakti movement, Bhakti Poetry in Medieval India: Its Inception, Cultural Encounter and Impact with Reference to the Works of Kabir and Nanak. She also has a Visharad in Hindustani classical music (vocal). She began her career as apprentice reporter with the Indian Express (covering the education and crime beat), and later took to teaching English at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, where she works as a professor.
