Rajmohan Gandhi is a biographer, historian and former Rajya Sabha member who has been championing Hindu-Muslim understanding for over sixty years. He has served on university campuses in India, including IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Bombay, and in the US, where he taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1997 to 2022. He has authored over a dozen books, including highly acclaimed biographies of Mahatma Gandhi, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, C. Rajagopalachari and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. His Rajaji: A Life received the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2002.
