Ratna Rajaiah began her a career with Rediffusion Advertising, going on to explore the world of television and cinema. She also wrote a popular column for Mid-Day which ran for five years.
After relocating from Mumbai to Mysore, Ratna began writing a column for The New Indian Express. Called ‘New Age Living’, it was an attempt to revisit ancient wisdoms like Ayurveda, yoga, spirituality and traditional foods and make them relevant to modern living. The success of this column led to her book, Secrets of Health from the Indian Kitchen, and subsequently, to Immunity in a Spoon of Ghee.
