Satishchandra Kumar is Professor and Head of the Department of Applied Psychology & Counselling Centre at the University of Mumbai. He is also the Coordinator of the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Centre. He is the recipient of the Summer Fellowship from the Albert Ellis Institute, New York. He was awarded a Research Fellowship by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. He has published in international peer-reviewed journals like Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Psychological Science, British Journal of Guidance and Counselling, and also contributed to the Sage volume of Eminent Indian Psychologists: 100 Years of Psychology in India. He has published five books and more than 40 research papers in national and international journals, and many students have done doctorate degrees under his guidance. His area of research is Industrial/Organizational Psychology, which includes positive psychology, engagement at the workplace, stress and coping at the workplace. He is also a member of many academic bodies and regularly advises corporates. He is also the co-editor of Sambhashan, the journal of the University of Mumbai.
